开 场 白

亲爱的伯伯、叔叔及亚姨们：

　　我们热烈欢迎来自世界各地的老师及老前辈们！

　　今天我们能在这儿与我们的父母亲及伯伯叔叔、亚姨等共同欢聚在一起，感到非常的荣幸与兴奋。记得不论我们到世界任何一个角落，我们都受到爸爸妈妈的朋友们的热情招待；我们后来发现，这些平时爸爸妈妈要我们尊称他们为伯伯、叔叔及亚姨的人，原来都是南大的校友，出自南大这个大家庭里。

　　我们的家长时常教导我们要有最高的理想，做事要达到最高的水准，要重视及尊重我们自己的文化及教育。

　　虽然我们在北美洲长大，没有受过华文教育，也没有机会在南洋大学念书；但因为我们父母亲的关系，我们从小就在南大的精神的薰陶底下长大！南大虽然在 1980年被关闭，但是我们就像在座的老前辈们的感受一样，南大的精神永远在我们的心中滋长！南大的火炬是永远不灭的！

　　谢谢。

　　We are here today to honour our parents and friends and to learn from them. This is an occasion to celebrate the first global gathering of the Nanyang family.

　　From childhood, we have experienced the warmth and sincerity of the Nanyang spirit. Wherever we followed you throughout the world, we were welcomed by people whom our parents introduced as "uncles" and "aunts". We now realize that these people who always greeted us with such love and enthusiasm are all part of the Nanyang family.

　　We have watched and listened as you pursued the dreams that were inspired by your days at Nanyang. You have always taught us to strive for excellence, and to respect both our culture and the value of education.

　　We have never attended Nanyang, but we have shared its vision through you. Though forced to close in 1980, Nanyang spirit can never be extinguished; its fire burns brightly in us and will be sustained by the generations to come.

注：	筹委会决定开幕典礼的司仪由我们能兼通中、英语的下一代担任是要说明留居加拿大的南大校友的子女，虽然在英文环境中长大，没有受过华文教育但仍不忘记学习母语母文。
又：	刘佳心为刘宗正校友的女儿， 李凌峰为李光华校友的儿子。
